Clint and Brenton Lockets

SetsMart was conceived by brothers Brenton and Clint Lockets to meet the consumables needs of  art departments, unit crews and construction workshops.

SetsMart is a specialist shop that supplies top quality consumables at the most competitive prices around. Drawing on nearly ten years of art department experience, the brothers found that too much time and money was being wasted on phoning and driving around to purchase products as diverse as condies crystal, bentonite and gaffer tape from as many shops.

In their frustration they decided to create a hardware mega mart that stocks pretty much whatever you need for your production - all under one roof.

This is Setsmart.

Walking around the Setsmart, one notices such familiar stock as Plascon spray paint, the full range of Eureka construction solutions, and Academy brushware. Not only are top quality products available, they are available for less.

Clint and Brenton have ensured that such essential basics as bubble wrap, cable ties and carpet tape are in constant supply, and at the lowest prices around.

But SetsMart doesn’t only trade off the shelf. Large orders are happily taken for big jobs with bulk and ongoing needs, at wholesale prices.

Not content to stock only well known and much used products, Clint and Brenton are all about the bigger picture. They envisage the right tools and consumables being used for each individual job.

Clint explains: “Although we’re very good at ‘making a plan’ here in SA, there are some really excellent products available overseas and we’re bringing them in."

One of the ingenious arrivals is the butyl-free non-marking black tack which does away with tell-tale stains left on location surfaces.

Chromakey gaffer tape is also on the way.

With the view of expanding their already impressive range of supplies, these keen entrepreneurs are in the process of purchasing a paint mixing machine. With their expertise and training, this addition to the SetsMart service will mean that your painting requirements will be met 24/7. Any paint. Any colour. And still only one trip!

SetsMart works longer hours than other hardware and consumable shops. The shop is open weekdays from 8am to 7pm and Saturdays 9am to 3pm. If you need something “on set” call them and make use of their delivery service.

The brothers have taken a mighty step, and their after-hours service is only a phone call away. For a call-out fee of R250, the shop will be re-opened any time of day or night.

For Clint and Brenton, the bottom line is this: They always have stock, they’re always available, they’re very competitively priced and it’s always a pleasant experience.

The shop has become a central meeting place for art directors, unit managers, set dressers and all related crew.
